Aileen L. Johnson

July 3, 1912-June 7, 1995

Aileen L. Johnson, 82, of Story City died Wednesday of cancer at the Story City Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, with the Rev. Thomas Hunt and the Rev. Stephen Anenson officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery.

Aileen L. Sunnoe was born in Stanhope to John and Elizabeth Sunnoe. She married Gaylord Johnson of Nov. 30, 1939, in Story City. She was a lifetime resident of Story County and employed as a reporter with the Story City Herald for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of Story City; one son, Galen Johnson of Grinnell; one daughter, Kathy Reed of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren and four sisters, Mae Munson of Story City, Hilma Paulson of Story City, Margaret Larson of Story City and Viola Hanson of Austin, Minn. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund had been established in lieu of flowers.
