From Adams & Soderstrum Funeral Home obituary, Story County, Iowa:

Brittany Amber Taylor
September 18, 1988 - January 11, 2013

Brittany Amber Taylor, “Britt”, 24 of Ames, Iowa passed away January 11, 2013 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Britt remained under the compassionate care of ICU staff and the Iowa Donor Network until January 13, 2013 when she was able to fulfill her final wish, the gift of organ donation. With her passing, four children have already been identified as matches to receive this precious gift. In her death Britt will improve many lives.

Britt was born September 18, 1988 at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Albert Canada. Britt attended Montessori School and Kindergarten in Newport Beach California; she graduated from Boone High in 2006. Brittany relocated to Seattle in 2006, and graduated as one of the youngest students in hair design from the Gary Manuel Aveda institute. With a flair for cutting edge fashion and color….Brittany was a canvas...she loved poetry, music, cats and her little dog Roxie; she was deathly afraid of spiders and ladybugs; worst gift ever was the ant farm received from her Grandmother Joe Montgomery. ?

Britt is survived by her mother, Angela Doran of Ames; her step-father, Dan Doran of Boone; her father, Scott Taylor of Peace River Alberta Canada; her grandparents, Thomas and Pauline Mattinson of Viking Alberta; her sisters, Brooke Roe of Scottsdale AZ, Erin Doran of Des Moines, and Kaitlyn Taylor; her brother, Dallas Taylor of Peace River Alberta; as well as an extended family of loving new step-sisters, Baylee Elsberry, Lexus Elsberry, Courtney Rose and Tonya Lyons.

A family memorial will be held at a later date. Friends will be notified via a Facebook posting on Britt’s page. Donations in memory of Britt can be made to the Ames Animal Shelter, 325 Billy Sunday Rd. Ames, IA 50010, 515-239-5530.

Special thanks to the physicians, paramedics, and ICU staff at Mary Greeley Medical Center as well as the Iowa Donor Network.
