William C. Drinnin

BORN: November 17, 1926
DIED: December 31, 2012
LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

William Clyde Drinnin was born November 17, 1926 to Lawrence "Harry" and Mabel L. (Robinson) Drinnin in Stark County, Illinois. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. William received a BA from Bradley University and taught middle school in Stark County. He then worked for 29 years as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1987. William loved working different festivals and town celebrations as "The Candyman".

William passed away in Ames, Iowa, (formerly of Bartonville, Illinois), December 31, 2012 at 86 years of age.

William is survived by his son, Christopher (Kristi) Drinnin of Ames; grandchildren, Jeremy (Mindy) Drinnin, Stephanie Drinnin, Katherine Drinnin, Christopher Drinnin, Jonathan Kuebler and Kaitlin Kuebler; one great-grandson Wyatt; one sister, Isabelle White of Texas; and his special niece, Laurie Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and several brothers and sisters.

Memorials can be made to the family. Inurnment will be at a later date.
