Mary Frances Brown, 65, passed away peacefully December 15, 2012 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Mary was born May 29, 1947 to Eugene and Thelma (Warnsch) Wallace in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas Woman's University and graduated with a BA degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Mary also did graduate work at St. Mary's University of Minnesota in Winona. Mary did philanthropy work for several non-profit organizations including the Girl Scouts of America, the American Cancer Society, the Iowa Volunteer Mentoring Program, and Bremwood Lutheran Services. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. Mary enjoyed ice skating, skiing, gardening, reading, spending time with her family and taking care of her grand puppies.

Mary is survived by her son, Ken (Sarah) Brown of Georgetown, Kentucky, and daughter, Donja (Tom) Esk of Ames. Mary is also survived by her sister, Bernice Lively, and her brother, Larry Wallace, and her sisters-at-heart Ryanne Lively and Vickie (Lively) Burkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House.
