From Nevada Representative May 24, 1882

MURDER.

Another argument for the Constitutional Amendment.

Michael Smith of St. Anthony, in Marshall county just east of Lincoln township, gave a wedding feast Sunday May 14th in honor of his daughter who was married that day. There were drinkables and it appears that Smith got a little more than he could carry comfortable. Richard Bren, one of guests, got rather full and late in the evening he and Smith became mixed up in a little word trouble which resulted in Smith pulling his pocket knife--a common two bladed wooden handled one and stabbed Breen just above the stomach inflicting a serious, and which proved, fatal wound, Breen dying Friday about noon.
