Pauline B. Cuff, 98, of Maxwell passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.
Pauline was born on a farm northeast of Maxwell on August 17, 1914, to Willis and Etta (Davis) Evans. She lived most of her life around Maxwell, graduating from Maxwell High in 1933. On October 5, 1934, she married Dick M. Cuff in Maxwell and to this union two sons were born, Corwin and Dick. Pauline was a member of the Maxwell Presbyterian Church, U.P.W. and the Maxwell Women's Club. Pauline had been a substitute organist and pianist for the church and had taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Collins-Maxwell School and Maxwell Historical Society along with following high school and Hawkeye sports.
Pauline is survived by her son Corwin Cuff (Christa Malay) of Lopez, Washington; her grandchildren, Kelly Cuff and Shannon (Rich) Balmes; five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her former daughter-in-law, Lois Hamerton; her adopted family, Tom and Karen Plunkett and family; and one sister, Miriam Pearce. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick; her son Dick (in Vietnam); her parents; two brothers; eight sisters; and a grand-daughter-in-law, Kim Cuff.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Maxwell Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be in the Maxwell Cemetery.
