Lillian Grace Slippy, 94, of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Lillian was born February 28, 1918, in Kamrar, Iowa to George and Tina (DeVries) Huisman. She married William Slippy on December 31, 1940, in Missouri. Lillian was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. She was very social and loved a good conversation.

Lillian is survived by her sons, Ron (Judy) Slippy of Krakow, WI, and Harlan (Pam) Slippy of Ankeny; her daughters, Donna Rothman of Belton, TX and Diane Ellis of Nevada; her sisters, Emma Olson of Story City and Treva Nicks of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her granddaughter, Kristi Slippy; three brothers, Fred, Benard and Harley Huisman; and a sister, Gertie Greenfield.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
