Verdelle Hoth, age 99, of Story City, died on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, Iowa. Verdelle will be buried in the Radcliffe Cemetery. Friends may call at Bethany Manor in Story City, on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. or at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information and online condolences go to: www.boekefuneralhomes.com.

Hannah Verdelle nee Maakestad (Reisetter) Hoth was born at rural Radcliffe, Iowa July 1, 1912 to William and Martha (Oakland) Maakestad. She graduated from Radcliffe High School with a Normal Training Teaching Certificate. She taught school for five years in Hamilton County. She married Harvey Espe Reisetter on May 22, 1937 and was blessed with six children. After Harvey's death in

1953, she continued to operate their grocery business.

In 1957, she moved her family to Cedar Falls, Iowa and was employed at several places including the Western Home, the City of Cedar Falls, and Sartori Hospital.

On June 22, 1968 she married Harold Hoth. Harold's six children and Verdelle's six children became a blended family. In 1981 they moved back to the Radcliffe area and were members at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. After Harold moved to Bethany Manor in Story City, Verdelle moved to Cedar Place where she could be near for visits. She enjoyed Bible Study, knitting, crocheting and crafting. She loved entertaining her family and friends.

She passed away at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Janis) of Cedar Falls, David (Marianna) of Westmont, llinois, Mark (Jean) of Lewiston, Minnesota, and daughters, Mary (Laverne) Severseike of Garden City, Becky Rolland of LaPorte City, and nephew Bradley (Carolyn) Stensland of Radcliffe. Her step children, Joan (David) Hinton of Parma, Ohio, Jim Hoth of Waterloo, Marge Heiserman of Independence, Janet (Jim) Johnson of Eagle Grove, Linda (Steve) Miller of Manchester, and Brenda Ropson (Bob Drinkwater) of Manchester. She is also survived by over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother Theodore Maakestad and one brother in law James Stensland.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, twelve siblings and their spouses, her son Michael Reisetter, two sons-in-law Steve Rolland and Roger Heiserman.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She shared her faith with her family and admonished them to go to church and read their Bibles.
