WILLIAM LOREN AYERS

William Loren Ayers, oldest son of John and Ellen Ayers, was born near Nevada, October 23, 1891 and died at the home of his wife's parents Mr and Mrs. J. C. Oxley, November, ___ 1918, aged 27 years, one month and six days. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia resulting from an attack of influenza, being sick for a few days. About two weeks before his death, he was taken down with influenza and soon felt all right and well, so he got out and attended to his farm duties and last week, Monday took to his bed and pneumonia set in. He was married to Florence Oxley at Marshalltown, April 18, 1914. He was a member of the _____--Workers Lodge of Collins where he was for many years well and honorably known. All that kind and loving hands could do was done to beat back the march of the disease in his system, but its hold was too strong and Loren went away.

He was a kind husband and a good neighbor. The funeral services were held Sunday in Iowa Center cemetery, by Rev. J. C. McCain in charge. C.A Sanders, H E Southern, M. Hiddick, Will Carver, Clarence Campbell and Harley Gerhart acted as pallbearers.

Loren leaves to mourn his departure the faithful young wife, his parents, three sisters and one brother with many friends. All of his relatives were present at the funeral except his sister Mary, who was unable to attend. His wife, Florence, who is recovering from influenza, was able to go to the cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS

The wife and relatives of Loren Ayers express thanks to all who showed kindness in service in the hours of their affliction in the death of husband, son and brother.
