Leonora Luing
January 25, 1922 - April 7, 2011

Leonora Luing, 89, formerly of Collins, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Story County Medical Center Senior Care Center in Nevada. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12 at the Collins Christian Church with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in rural Collins. Visitation will be held Monday, April 11 with the family present from 5-7 p.m. again at the Collins Christian Church.

Leonora was born on January 25, 1922 in Collins. She graduated from the Collins Consolidated High School in 1939 and married her husband of 71 years on December 28, 1939.

Leonora is survived by her husband Forrest Luing of Collins; her children Darwin (Janet) Luing of Panora, IA, Charlene (Ted) Mullihan of Collins, Pam (Bill) Hamilton of South Padre Island, TX and Teresa (Charles) Suggs of Loveland, CO; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chauncey Vasey and Flora Morrison, her brothers Bill, Charles, and Albert Vasey, her sister Leona Battles, a grandson Chris Carver and great-grandson Cory Oswalt.

Leonora lived a full useful life and will be missed by her many relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established in Leonora's name.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Leonora and her family.
