Edward "ED" Michael Foley
February 4, 1940 - April 2, 2012Edward Michael "Ed" Foley, age 72, of Bradford, IA, formerly of Wideman, Arkansas, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Rehab Center of Hampton, following a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way in Ames.
Ed was born February 4, 1940 in Ames, the son of Michael J and Alice (Ford) Foley. He attended Colo High School, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and worked as a long-distance truck driver for many years until his retirement.
Ed was a devoted father and grandfather to his surviving children, Mike (Bobbi Jo) Foley of Bradford, IA, William "Bill" (Jacki) Foley of Alden, and Jean Foley of Seattle, WA and six grandchildren, Ian Foley of Cedar Falls, Eric (Katy) of Cedar Rapids, Amber(Gavin Feuerhelm)Foley and Amanda Foley-Gerstner of Ankeny, McAllaster and McKenna Jack Foley of Alden. Survivors also include eleven siblings; Mary Bigelow, Charles City, Louise (Argyll Amenson, Roland, Chuck Foley of Haughton, LA, Pat Olsson, Ames, John (Rita) Foley, Colo, Leonard (Patty) Foley, Huxley, Janice Cannon, Mt. Ayr, Maggie (Steve) Westvold, Ames, Barbara (Brad) Foley-Fregger, Austin, TX, Tom (Ginger) Foley, Calico Rock, AR, and Teresa (Lauren) Olson, Ellsworth.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, LeRoy Bigelow, Stan Olsson, and Rodger Cannon, nephews, Tim Foley and Jim Olsson, and great nephew, Traven Olsson Keigley.
