Barbara Jo Dalaba
January 19, 1945 - April 24, 2012Barbara Dalaba, age 67, of Jewell, died Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday April 29, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way Ames, Iowa.
Barbara was born January 19, 1945 in Marshalltown the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Miltonberger) Richeson. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. She married Eric Dalaba on April 20, 1990 in Federal Way, Washington. Barbara moved back to Ames in 1995 and then moved to Jewell in 2003. She owned and operated Silk Purse Cleaning before she retired in 2008.
Barbara loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and to hear the grandchildren call her Meemaw.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Eric, of Jewell, and her children, son Shawn (Annette) Richeson, daughter Tracey Williams all of Killeen, TX, daughter Becky Scott, daughter Jamie Harsha, son Zachariah (Christina) Dalaba all of Ames, son Bill Erickson, daughter Mariah Garrison both of Seattle, Washington, daughter Sarah Scott of Austin, TX, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson and a sister, Sharon Meyer of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Helen, and a brother, Ron.
