Teresa Ann “Terry” Stratton, 60, of Madrid, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Madrid Home in Madrid.

Terry was born April 18, 1951, in Des Moines to Paul and Alyce (Riekena) Stratton. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1969, and worked for Qwest Communications in Omaha for 35 years. Terry was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church and the CWA Union. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and spending time with her family.

Terry is survived by her father, Paul Stratton of Madrid; her brother, Alan (Barb) Stratton of Maxwell; her niece, Audrey (Craig) Beal of Nevada; her nephew, Carl (Amanda) Stratton of Des Moines; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.

Terry has been cremated and a visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Memorial services will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Cemetery c/o Janice Whaley, 100 Myer Street, Maxwell, IA 50161.
