Faye Olson, 77, of Nevada, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Faye was born February 8, 1934 at Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford and Caroline (Roach) Johnson. Faye was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Olson November 16, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Nevada, Iowa. She had worked as a secretary at Donnelly’s in Nevada before retiring. Faye loved her children and granddaughter. She enjoyed playing a good game of cribbage with Bob.

Faye is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Olson of Nevada, IA; her son: Robin A. Olson of Sioux City, IA; her daughter: Diane E. Olson of Rochester, MN; one granddaughter: Kindra F. Olson; and one brother: C. Kay Johnson of Springfield, MO.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and a sister prior to Faye’s birth..

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with burial to follow in Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Faye Olson Memorial Fund.
