James Barnes
June 22, 1941 - March 4, 2012
Nevada, IowaJames "Jim" Barnes of Nevada, Iowa, passed away March 4, 2012, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 10th at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. . Visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM, Friday, March 9th at Bacon Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mapleton, North Dakota at a later date.
Jim was born in Kenmare, North Dakota on June 22, 1941, the son of John and Lucy Barnes. He grew up in Casselton, North Dakota. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Viet Nam era.
He married his wife of 50 years, Elaine Grindberg at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Casselton on January 27, 1962. Together they raised their two daughters in Mapleton, North Dakota, before moving to Nevada in 1995.
Jim is survived by his wife, Elaine, his daughters: LeAnne (Paul) Bredholt of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Angela (Mark) VanWesten of Story City, Iowa; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
