Steven Floyd Adolphson
October 23, 1955 - January 5, 2011

Steven F. Adolphson, 55, of Gilbert, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Visitation will be on Friday, January 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 8 at 4:00 p.m. at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be Monday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Storm Lake Cemetery.

Steve was born October 23, 1955 in Alta to Floyd and Fern (Matzdorf) Adolphson. He graduated from Alta Consolidated Schools in 1974. He earned a BS degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University. He married Deborah Susan Jesse, daughter of Marvin and Sheila (Hartley) Jesse on October 10, 1987.

He was employed at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames. He enjoyed woodworking, scuba diving, taking care of his yard, and watching movies with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; children, Tayler, Nicole, and Justin; brothers, Richard, and Kenneth; and many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra.
