Obituary

Matthew Turpen, 25, of Ankeny, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 4, 2011.A visitation will be held on Monday, May 9 from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Matthew Turpen was born October 1, 1985 in Corpus Christi, TX to Jesse and Terri (Dale) Turpen. He graduated from Nevada High School in 2005. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2006 and finished first in his AIT (Advanced Individual Training) class. He was stationed in Germany during his enlistment.

Some of his special interests or passions were shooting, movies, drawing, card games, such as Texas Holdum and blackjack.

He is survived by his daughter, Annabelle Turpen; parents, Jesse and Terri Turpen; sister, Tricia Maston; niece and nephew, Cailyn and Kole Maston, a ll of Ankeny; grandmothers, Goldie Chambers, of Bedford, IN, and Marilyn Dale, of Ames; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ezra Turpen, and Norm and Pat Dale.
