Glee Cooper

BORN: February 7, 1918
DIED: November 8, 2010
LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Glee Cooper, 92, of Ames died November 8, 2010 at Israel Family Hospice House. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Campus Baptist Church in Ames.

Glee was born in Prairie City, Iowa, February 7, 1918 to Will Garfield and Ora Belle (Wolfe) Cooper. She grew up in Ames and graduated from Ames High School in 1935. At the age of 18 she received Christ as her personal Savior. She loved children and wanted to learn what the Bible was all about so she enrolled in Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis. Glee went to California to work for Child Evangelism Fellowship in San Luis Obispo. In 1968 she became co-director of CEF in Lane County, Oregon. Glee retired in 2000 and returned to Ames to be closer to family.

Glee is survived by her sisters, Marlys (John) Scott of Slater and Marilee Golike, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and 120 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; Keith Cooper; two sisters, Veva Alleman and Roma Jean Christiansen; and nephew, Nick Scott.
