Amy Nelson Rogers

BORN: June 5, 1971
DIED: February 17, 2011
LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Amy (Nelson) Rogers, age 39 of Ames, Iowa died on February 17, 2011 as a result of a car accident. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, February 25 at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 Grand Ave., Eau Claire, WI. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at the Westby-Coon Prairie Cemetery.

Amy was born June 5, 1971 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to George and Sandy (Ekern) Nelson. She was a graduate of Memorial High School in 1989 and University of Wisconsin – Stout in 1993. Amy worked at Iowa State University as a Budget Analyst for the Graduate College.

She married Marc Rogers on June 11, 1994 at Grace Luthern Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They have two children Cole and Alli.

She is survived by Marc and their two children. Parents George and Sandy (Ekern) Nelson, Eau Claire, WI. Brother Jeff (Heidi) Nelson, Hudson, WI. Grandmother Marjorie Nelson, Altoona WI. Mother and Father in law William and Linda Marie (Gordon) Rogers Eau Claire, WI and four sister-in-laws and three nephews. Also survived by a large circle of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Amy was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a devoted mother and will be remembered for her endless energy volunteering in various boards and activities in the Ames community.
