LOCATION: Story City, Iowa
Marjorie Ford was born September 2, 1919 to John and Julia (Egemo) Ford at Randall, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Marge married Selmer (Sam) Westvold on June 9, 1939. Marge and Sam had a grocery store in Huxley, and at the same time, Marge owned and operated Westvold Beauty Shop. Marge later worked for the Iowa Highway Commission and Fareway Food Store. She was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Sam passed away in November of 1981. On January 3, 1987, Marge married Donald E. Tesdall.
Marge cherished her relationship with God and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed life and loved to share her joy and her pride in family and Norwegian heritage. Marge was a true "people person" and loved to sing, sharing the gift of her voice at many weddings, funerals, and in church choir. Marge's inner strength and her deep faith in a Loving Lord carried her through more than her share of difficulties in life. At each crossroad, Marge would chose once again to find the joy in life.
Marge passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa at 92 years of age.
Marge is survived by two sons, Clark (Sue Less) Westvold of Broomfield, Colorado, and Michael (Kay) Westvold of Everett, Washington; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Berven (Eve) Forde of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers, Thelmar Ford, Joseph Ford and Jeffrey Ford; and three sisters, Sophie Amensen, Violet Olson and Stella Westvold.
