BORN: April 7, 2012

DIED: April 7, 2012

LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Sydney Grace Van, infant daughter of Brittni Wessner-Blais and R. Kyle Van of Ames, Iowa passed away April 7 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames Iowa. Graveside services were held at Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Michael R. and Theresa L. Van of Mentor, OH and Pebbles J. and Gene D. Blais, Jr. of Rockford, ILL; many great- grandparents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Dear Sydney Grace,

Sweet baby girl. . .how I wish so much you were here with me and Daddy right now. I always thought my first letter to you would be written so you could read it when you turned 18 and became a woman yourself. I never imagined being 22 years old and laying my precious daughter to rest but life doesn't ask what you want. . . we don't hold life's card or make God's decisions. And sometimes that means being strong when you feel like being weak. But I know you need a strong Mommy still, so that's what I'm going to be . . . for you, for Daddy, for everyone because through that they will know you, my sweet baby girl, because you will continue to give me strength knowing you're looking down on us.

Like your Daddy told me: every time the sun rises, it's you waking up and every time the sun sets it's you going to sleep. ♥

Remember , since I won't be there for awhile . . .

Grandpa Gene will teach you about the power of a contract

Grandma Clara will bandage your knee when it gets scraped

Timmy will make you laugh when you're feeling blue
And everyone else I forgot to mention will help to fill Mommy's job till I see your beautiful face again.

If you ever look down and see Mommy crying it's not because I'm sad, but because I'm happy I got to carry you for 6 months and miss those moments. So never feel sorry, only feel loved and missed!!

You may have not been planned, but you were my biggest blessing and best gift your Daddy could have ever given me. And don't you worry when you have brothers and sisters because you won't be any less special and they will know you, Sydney Grace, this I promise.

So sleep tight baby girl, watch over us and give Mommy and Daddy a sign every once in a while to let us know you're thinking about us because you'll always be on our minds and in our hearts!!

I'll hold you in my heart, till I can hold you in my arms. . . .
