Mae Lovig

BORN: October 20, 1913

DIED: April 15, 2012

LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Mae was born on October 20, 1913 in McCallsburg to Corneil and Amanda (Erickson) Erickson. She married Reuben C. Lovig on February 27, 1938. He passed away on May 24, 1979.

Mae had been a resident of McCallsburg and Randall before moving to Cedar Place in Story City in July 1990. She was member of Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Mae was a wonderful mother and homemaker and had also worked part time at the Story City Hospital. She was also well known for all the cards and letters she sent to her family and friends. Before her health started to fail she would send out over 100 Christmas cards each year.

Mae is survived by three sons, Robert (Darlene) Lovig of Sioux City, Carroll (Elaine) Lovig of Story City and Allen (Margo) Lovig of Huxley; seven grandchildren and their families, Kevin Lovig, Eric Lovig, Dawn Keagle, Lori Lake, Chad Lovig, Shane Lovig and Holly Lovig; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Marie Williams of Iowa Falls and Gerine Corbin of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Evelyn Hill, Alta Lunning, Hildred Osvog and Corrine Moore; two brothers, Marvin and Sam Erickson; a granddaughter, Michelle (Lovig) Braatz; a grandson Robert Lovig, Jr; and a great grandson, Zachary Braatz.

Mae enjoyed life and loved all of her family, relatives and friends. She will be waiting for them to join her in heaven some day.
