From Adams & Soderstrum Funeral Home obituary, Story County, Iowa:

Grace Olson Schwiebert

BORN: March 15, 1916

DIED: May 26, 2012

LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Grace Olson Schwiebert passed away at Bethany Manor in Story City at 96 years of age on May 26, 2012. Memorial Services will be Monday, May 28 at 2 pm at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Grace was born March 15, 1916, to Malachi and Martha Johnson at Randall, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church. Grace graduated from Randall High School in 1933. She married Roy Olson, the next door neighbor, in 1934. They farmed west of Story City and north of Randall before purchasing a farm east of Ellsworth. They farmed 44 years before her husband Roy's death in 1977. They had one daughter, Donna (David) Teigland, of Story City.
Grace loved visiting with friends. Her coffee pot was always on and everyone was welcome. She believed in working hard and doing everything right the first time. Grace took pride in being a good farmer beside her husband Roy, whether it was milking cows, planting and harvesting crops, maintaining flower and vegetable gardens, and painting the house and all farm buildings. This was all done in addition to keeping a spotless home and preparing incredibly delicious meals. Grace loved spoiling her grandchildren. When they were coming for Sunday dinner, they knew they would get Grandma's wonderful fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. She will be sorely missed.

Grace was exceedingly proud of her grandchildren and all their accomplishments. She would often say, "I really did a good job considering I only had one child."

She truly loved Pastor Norem and the Elim church family of friends.

Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Donna (David) Teigland, Story City. Grandchildren: Mark (Patrice) Teigland, Urbandale; Mike (Kathy) Teigland, Indianola; Matt Teigland, Phoenix, Arizona; Mary (Joel) Danielson, Story City; Merrilee (Jeff) Blosser, Indianola. Great grandchildren: Kristen (Shannon) Puttmann, Nathan (Andrea) Teigland, Anna (Lance) Reinke, Michael (Abby) Teigland. Laura (Seth) Nailor, John (Ann) Teigland, Jennifer (Dustin) Blackburn, Alicia Danielson, Krista Danielson, Luke Danielson, Ellie Blosser, Ryen Blosser. Great-great grandchildren: Kaylee and Kyle Puttmann, Anna and Clara Teigland, Parker, Keaton and Brook Reinke, Julia Teigland, Ava and Jonah Nailor. Also, cherishing the memory of Grace is her sister LaVonne Hanson of Jewell, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Grace was preceded in death by: husbands Roy Olson of 45 years and Kendall Schwiebert of fifteen years; parents Malachi and Martha Johnson; brothers Orvie and Miles Johnson; sisters Alvina Tjernagel, Gladys Tjernagel and Hazel Alley.

Memorials may be given to Elim Lutheran Church at Randall, Israel Hospice House of Ames or Bethany Manor Chaplaincy Fund in Story City.
Burial will be at a later date with immediate family.
