Deaths shaft again visits the family of C. Burkey* and takes away another son some twelve years old. This make s the second death within two weeks in Mr. B's family, by the dread disease diphtheria. Mr. Green has a case of diphtheria in his family supposed to have been carried there by Mr. C. Burkey, who was necessitated to call at Mr. Greens house some five or six days prior to the time the little girl of Mr. G's was taken down with the disease. This case would satisfy the most credulous, that the disease can and is carried in the clothes of person who have been where others have been suffering with diphtheria. Dr. Schooler of Nevada was called down to attend Mr. Greens child in connection with Dr. McTavish.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mr. C. Burkey was Christian Burkey aka Buerki. The first death in the Burkey household two weeks prior was that of five year old Christian Burkey on 26/27 December 1880.
