Died.

On Monday evening, October 4th, at the residence of E. Armstrong, Mrs. Maria Chenoweth, aged 69 years.

Mrs. Chenoweth was a sister of Mrs. Armstrong and Messrs. S. B. and W. W. Moore, of Des Moines. She had resided in this place most of the time for the past 25 years. Funeral services were held to-day, Wednesday, at the residence of Mr. Armstrong, and her remains were deposited in our beautiful cemetery just west of town, by the side of her son who died while in the army.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: E. Armstrong refers to Ellis Armstrong, husband of Charlotte Emmaline "Emma" (Moore) Armstrong. Maria and Emma were the daughters of Simon and Celinda Moore. Maria's son (referred to as pre-deceasing her) was Simon M. Chenoweth, who died 7 October 1861 in Company F, 17th Iowa Infantry.
