OBITUARY ~ PAUL J. STEPHENS

Paul J. STEPHENS of 3110 Lettie St. Ames, died Wednesday, March 29 [1978] at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames. He was born May 11, 1907, at Maloy, Iowa.

On April 22, 1925, he married Goldie MATTHEWS in Mount Ayr. He went to Ames in 1945, where he was employed 40 years in the dairy industry department of Iowa State university until his retirement in 1960.

He was a member of the Ames First Baptist church, the IOOF lodge and the Ames Moose lodge.

Surviving are his former wife; three sons, Roland of Boone, Roger of Nevada and Richard of Eugene, Ore.; four daughters, Pauline MUSSON of Iowa Falls, Velta CARROLL of Hopkins, Minn., Rosalie NELSON of Boone and Marilyn MULANIX of Rochester, Mich.; four brothers, Jess, Allen and Marion, all of Mount Ayr, and Roy of Des Moines; three sisters, Gladys SELLERS of Mount Ayr, Lela HARVEY of Lincoln, Neb., and Ona KASTER of Des Moines; 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday evening in Ames and funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mount Ayr.
