Estherville-Services for Thomas Edward Eide, 97, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastors Kermit Rye and Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with full military service. He died Monday, November 24, 1989 at Good Samaritan Center.
Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born May 31, 1892 at Huxley, the son of Lars and Julia (Thompson) Eide, and attended country school near Huxley. On May 7, 1924 he was united in marriage with Beatrice Froland at Boone. The couple made their home in Huxley. In March of 1926 they moved to Estherville where they farmed. They moved into town in 1939 where he worked at Greig Grain Elevator, retiring in 1957. He became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in May of 1988. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. He served in World War One, in Russia and the Phillipines.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice, Estherville; seven sons; Wesley and Cecil, Estherville; Lyle and Thomas, St. Paul; Jack, Yelm, Wash.; Floyd, Tacoma, Wash. and Dale, Phoenix, Ariz.; 34 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; four sisters; three brothers and one grandson.
