Story City-Knute Eide, 86, Polk City died at his home at 6:30 a.m. today.
Born in Norway, the son of Oystiem and Anna Eide, Mr. Eide had farmed near Mille Lacs, Minn., until retiring to Polk City in 1952, where he made his home with a nephew.
Mr. Eide was preceded in death by three brothers and is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Riis Funeral Home, Slater, with the Rev. George Krumrey, pastor of the Ankeny Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery, Kelley.
The body will lie in state at the Riis Funeral Home from Thursday to noon Friday.
