From Nevada Representative March 29, 1876

Mr. McGregor, a son-in-law of Mr. Halley of Cora Grove, another man and two children were killed by the indians, while they were on their way to the Black Hills, west of Sioux City. They were out a little ways from the main party hunting, when they were overtaken by the indians. Mr. McGregor worked in our school house here last summer.
