From Story County Watchman January 12, 1906

Wm. McCleese died at his home in Collins Sunday after an extended illness. He was sixty-eight years of age and has resided in this county for many years. He leaves a wife and three daughters. The funeral services Monday were at the Methodist church and were conducted by Rev. C. E. Burton. A large gathering of sorrowing friends and relatives were present.
