From Story County Watchman January 12, 1906

Katherine, daughter of James and Barbara McLaughlin, ws born in Strathbungy, Scotland, June 4, 1823, was married to James Malloy in December, 1854, and died in Cambridge, Iowa, Tuesday, January 2, 1906, at 3 p. m., aged eighty-two years, six months and twenty-eight days, the immediate cause of demise being partial paralysis and general senility. They came to America in 1858 and settled in Caledonia, Canada, remaining there ten years and then removing to Cambridge, which has been the continuous home of the family since that time. There were born to them three daughters, all of whom survive their parents: Mrs. Barbara Beck is still a resident of our town, while Mrs. Kate Wadsworth lives in California and Mrs. Maggie Allen in Colorado. Mr. Malloy proceeded his wife into the great beyond, having passed away about seven years ago. The funeral ceremony was conducted in the M. E. church at 1 p. m. today by Rev. R. E. Harvey and interment was in the local cemetery.--Cambridge Leader.
