MARTIN

From Story County Watchman July 14, 1905

Word reached this city this morning of the Watkins Well farm near Gilbert and Story City. From information learned this morning, Mrs. Martin passed away very suddenly, being taken seriously ill shortly before 10 o'clock with Bright's disease and passing away at 10:15. She had enjoyed good health and was considered a rugged and hardy settler.

Mrs. Martin was well known in this and adjoining counties.

She often made visits Boone and lived as though in straightened circumstances.

She leaves a husband* and adopted daughter and son, the daughter and son receiving most of the property.

This is a statement Mrs. Martin made some time ago that the bulk of her fortune would go to the children.

Mrs. Martin owned the famous Watkins' well farm and much other property in and near Gilbert and Story City. She was noted for her eccentricities, but nevertheless had many friends.--Boone News Saturday.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Jane Martin was survived by her husband, William Martin.
