From Story County Watchman September 30, 1904

DIED--Monday morning suddenly at the home of herself and brother and sister Miss Diantha Dinsmore, aged 58 years. While ailing for a few days nothing was deemed out of the way and was at the time conversing with a lady, a near neighbor, when it happened. She stooped down to pick up something on the floor when she fell forward and before relief or aid could be given was beyond the reach of medical skill since the vital spark had departed its earthy tabernacle. She was the the main stay of the family and consisted of two sisters and one brother all of whom were afflicted with a sort of blindness that compelled her to aid them much, which she did in a most affable and thorough manner, and they are now left to as best they may, and will probably make their home with relatives in the future. She came to this city many years since and made her home on what was known as the Dinsmore farm just south of town. In addition to James, Elivira and Margaret, referred to above, Mrs. Calvin Thomas is a sister, a brother, J. R., in this city, the others being a distance. The funeral was held by Rev. Sanford yesterday at 10 a. m., and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery to await the awakening call.
