Elizabeth Douglass died Wednesday morning, September 21, at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. A. Acheson, in Washington township, Polk county, after a lingering illness and much suffering. She was born in Wayne county, Ohio, September 12, 1830 and moved to Iowa in 1883, and at the time of her decease September 21, 1904, was seventy-four years and nine days of age. In her early life she became a member of the Presbyterian church and remained a steadfast believer to the end.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs A. W. Acheson" was Elleanor "Ellen" (Douglas) Acheson, wife of William Andrew Acheson. Elizabeth Douglas is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Loring, Polk County, Iowa along with her mother, Margaret Douglas.
