Died.

Fern, the 13 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hester died at her home Monday morning. The funeral services were held in Ames the same afternoon. The remains were shipped to Dallas Center for interment.

Beulah Fern Hestor was born in Colfax, Ill., Oct. 24, 1891. Moved with her parents to Story Co., Iowa, in 1893 and has lived since that time 3 1/2 miles east of Ames. Fern was taken sick on the Fair grounds Wednesday, Aug. 31 and although the best of care and medical attendance was immediately given they could not prevent the ravages of the dread appendicitis. An operation was performed Sunday morning but Fern passed away at 6:30 the morning of Sept 5th having been violently ill from the first but she bore all bravely. Fern was a cheerful, obedient child--a faithful little christian worker. Her loss is to be deeply deplored and the deepest sympathy goes out to the family from all.
