AMES DEPARTMENT OF THE WATCHMAN

Word has been received here that Mrs. E. S. McCartney had just died at her home in Great Falls, Mont., the date being 18 of June. Mr. McCartney is a son of Mr. Milo McCartney just east of the Skunk on the main road and is well known to our people, who will extend to him their sympathy in this hour of sorrow.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "E. S. McCartney" was Elmer Sherman McCartney, son of Milo McCartney and Belinda (Swisher) McCartney. Elmer married Hallie P. Wilson 4 October 1898 in Cascade County, Montana. Hallie was the daughter of Albert and Susie Wilson. She is buried in the Old Highland Cemetery, Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana. She apparently died in childbirth as an unnamed infant McCartney (1904-1904) is buried with her.
