On the 25th of February Chas. L. Bryant died at his home in this city at the age of 78 years and 9 months. He was a native of Kentucky but came to Iowa in 1852 since which time he has been an upright citizen of the Iowa state. His wife died several years since leaving him to pass the latter years of his pilgrimage here below alone as it were. Several children survive to mourn his loss. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Christian church under the leadership of Rev. Hougham.
