Miss Martha E. Kuhn was born in Frederick county, Maryland, November 1, 1828, and died in Rich Hill, Missouri, December 2, 1903, being 75 years, 1 month and 2 days old. She was resident of Johnson's Grove until about five years ago, having spent that time at the home of her brother Alfred in Rich Hill. The direct cause of her death was cancer on the breast of which she had been a great sufferer for the past three years. She leaves to mourn their loss two brothers and one sister, Alfred Kuhn of Rich Hill, Missouri, and George N. Kuhn and Mrs. Margaret E. Apple of Nevada.
