Roland Record: ....Last Wednesday afternoon June 24th the church bell tolled the untimely and sudden death of Rasmus Thompson (Rabben). He had been sick but a few days. The funeral took place Friday afternoon in Bergen's church and Rev. Sandven preached the funeral sermon. Mr. Thompson leaves besides a wife and six children to mourn his death, a mother, two brothers and two sisters. The oldest child is about 16 years, the youngest less than a year old. He was a little over 40 years of age at the time of his death.
