From Story County Watchman January 23, 1903

DIED--On the 11th of January in Estherville, Iowa, C. S. Emmons at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lovell. He lived in this county for some time and his daughter, Mrs. Grace Briggs, is a resident at this point. He was well and favorably known. The funeral was held in Des Moines and the remains laid in Woodlawn cemetery.
