From Story County Watchman January 16, 1903

Died--Mrs. Jane Huston Letson died Tuesday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. P. Zwilling, aged 81 years, 3 months and 4 days. She was a native of Wayne county, Ohio, and at the age of 19 was married to B. Letson and settled upon a farm in Kentucky but in 1858 moved to Nevada where she has since resided surrounded by her children and many friends. Some four months since she was attacked with an affection of the heart and shortly after was removed tothe home of daughter where she ended her life of usefulness and happiness. Her children all survive and are Mrs. Lydia Lockridge, Warren Letson, Mrs. Dilla L. Waldron, Mrs. Helen Balliett, Mrs. Rachel Miller and Mrs. Lovie Zwilling. The last rites were held at the residence of Mr. Zwilling yesterday and was well attended by our old residents all of whom knew and appreciated her true worth. Any comment by us as to her character and standing are useless since all know that she was one of the few women who could be classed as a truly noble and patriotic one from the first to the last.
