Yesterday afternoon wile out in the timber south of town some of the school children found Henry Young insensible and he was promptly taken home. He never recovered from the shock and this morning was called to the great beyond leaving a wife and grown up family to mourn his loss. His age was something like 70 years. He was a veteran of the late war.

OBITUARY.

Henry Young was born in Erie county, Pennsylvania, February 24, 1831. At the age of fifteen he emigrated to Illinois, he moved again, going to Wisconsin. January 15, 1851 he was married to Miss Katharine Yazel. Later on in the company with his family he removed to the state of Iowa and located at Ames. At the breaking out of Civil War, he enlisted as a soldier and went to the front with the 23rd Iowa regiment, to battle for the Union of his country and for freedom of an enslaved race. He was a member of the G. A. R. post at Cambridge. About 4 years ago he came to Nevada and resided in the south part of town. On Thursday of last week he was stricken apparently with a paralytic stroke. His death occured on Friday A. M. at 7:30 o'clock. His age at the time of his death was 71 years 3 months and one day. A number of years ago he obeyed the Gospel at Ames and United with the church of Christ. Those best acquainted with his life a character of many sterling qualities. Funeral services were held at the house Sunday A. M. at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by Chas. D. Hougham past of the Christian church. A widow, 5 daughters, 2 sons, a number of relatives, and many friends, mourn the departure of the deceased.

Mrs. Ira Voiles received the sad news Thursday evening that her father Mr. Young of Nevada was dying. Mr. and Mrs. Voiles drove to Nevada early Friday morning where they remained until after the funeral Sunday.
