Personal and Social.

--Dr. Jeffrey returned from Corning Wednesday night leaving his wife* there for a few days. Her mother died while they were there and she will return home as soon as matter are in such a shape that she can leave readily.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Dr. Jeffrey" was Dr. John A. Jeffrey and his wife was Sarah Caroline (Vance) Jeffrey, daughter of John Vance and Eliza Jane (Chamberlain) Vance.
