Dennis Doolittle, 61, rural Boone, died of cancer Monday, Feb 19 (1990), at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held Thursday Feb 22, at 1:30 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church in Story City. Rev Riehard Morris and Rev Paul Beckman officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery. Visitation at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City will be after 3 pm, Wednesday, Feb 21, with the family in attendance from 6:30 – 8 pm. Dennis Doolittle, son of Clarence and Mary Maroney Doolittle, was born May 21, 1928 south of Story City. He married Joyce Dodds on May 5, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Mr Doolittle was employed as a farmer. He is survived by his wife Joyce, Boone, a daughter, Janine Lamb, Boone; a sister Shirley Brubaker, West Union; a brother, Delano Doolittle, Gilbert; and nieces and nephews. Mr Doolittle was a member of the Stanhope Methodist Church.
