Shirley Marie (Buttry) Gray, 71, of Nevada, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at her home. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6 at the Colo Cemetery in Colo with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Visitation will also be held on Saturday with the family present from 9-11a.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada.

Shirley was born August 27, 1939, in Nevada to Roy T. and Helen M. (Hickman) Buttry. She was a 1957 graduate of Nevada High School. On June 21, 1958, Shirley married Paul H. Gray at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. She retired in 2004 as an accountant with Mainstream Living. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, Ames Ikes and the Girl Scouts Counsel. She enjoyed scrapbooking and camping.

Shirley is survived by her husband Paul of Nevada; 3 daughters, Dora J. (Ed) Elliott of Webster City, Debra L. Gray (Tom Setzer) of Nevada, and Dena M. (Richard) Gray-Fisher of McCallsburg; 5 grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Childs, David Elliott (Amy James), Elizabeth M. Croker, Aaron J. Croker (Cassie Eckley), and Raymond L. Raske; 5 great grandchildren Hayden James Elliott, Sierra R. Raske, Emily M. Banks, Michael R. Raske and Shelby R. Raske; a sister Sharon (Jim) Poston of Haysville, KS; 2 brothers Wayne (Debra) Buttry of Albuquerque, NM, and Garry (Sharon) Buttry of Raleigh, NC.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established in Shirley's name for the Girl Scouts.
