Mrs. Mary Z. Dawson, wife of Geo. F. Dawson, daugther of Andrew and Sarah Bales, died at her home, near Zearing, Iowa, January 28, 1898, at the age of 30 years 9 months and 27 days. She was born near Colo, April 1, A. D. 1867. In the year 1885 she was married to Geo. F. Dawson. To this untion were born four children, two boys and two girls, who, with the husband, three brothers and on sister, with many other relatives and friends remain to mourn her loss. Her parents, three sisters and a brother preceded her to the spirit world. Mrs. D. was a good woman, possessing many excellent traits of character, with which she won the hearts of of all who knew her. In her early life whe was converted to God, from which time she lived a consistant Christian. About a year ago she untied with the Zearing class of the United Evangelical church of which she remained a faithful and beloved member until called to her eternal reward. During her days of suffering she manifested that wonderful patience and hope, only the child of God possesses. Her end was one of peace and great triumph. Her funeral was held in the United Evangelical church in Colo, conducted by her pastor, Rev. S. Skogsburg of Zearing, assisted by Revs. Charles Pickford and A. T. Wilkins of Colo, after which her mortal remains were conveyed to the Nevada cemetery for burial, where they will sleep until the resurrection morning.
