From Story County Watchman July 16, 1897

DIED--At her residence in this cityon the 7th day of July, Mrs. Pauline Pierce, aged 71 years, and 7 months. Mrs. P. was born in Batavia, N. Y., and her maiden name was Lawson. She was married in 1847 to A. H. Pierce who died in this city in 1887. They moved to this city in October, 1871, and resided here since that time. She leaves two children to mourn her loss, Mrs. Lear and Mr. F. Pierce. The funeral was conducted from the residence by Rev. Handsaker and the remains were placed at rest in the Nevada cemetery amidst the sorrows of relatives and friends.
