Story City Herald: ....Nels P. Nelson the aged and respected father of N. M. Nelson, met with a sudden and terrible death at this place at noon Saturday....He went over to the livery barn to tell the boys to hitch up to take a passenger to the country, and as he walked down the middle of the barn he was kicked on the head by a horse. He was instantly killed and fell on his face where he laid until he was discovered a few minutes later and carried into the office of the barn....
