From Story County Watchman May 15, 1896

Story City Herald: Saturday morning Dr. Allen* received a message informing him of the death of his mother, who died the evening before at her home at South Hero, Vermont. At the time of her death Mrs. Allen was 77 years of age.....

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Dr. Allen" is Dr. Charles Wellington Allen of Story City, son of Reuben Clapp and Amanda Nash (Dewey) Allen. Amanda N. Allen died May 1, 1896.
