From Story County Watchman February 14, 1896

Colo Watchman.

Marcia P. Hall died Feb. 10, 1896, at the home of her grand daughter, Bessie Manchester in Dunlap, Iowa. Marcia P. Grant was born July 1, 1831, joined in marriage with Alfred Hll, March 1, 1850, near Oshkosh, Wisconsin. To them were born one son (Charles) and three daughters, one deceased, the two living are Mrs. J. W. Kinsell, of Colo, and Mrs. Clara Freeley*, of Portland, Oregon. The family came to town in May, 1866, residing in Colo where her husband died May 23, 1872. The family loose a kind affectionate help, society a model and the M. E. church a faithful member. On the Feb. 11, at 7 o'clock p. m. when Mrs. J. W. Kinsell and Bessie arrived, a large crowd were at the depot to meet them, thence to accompany them to their home in Colo. On the 12th the funeral services were held in the M. E. church by the pastor Rev. J. W. Elliott, assisted by the writer, after which there quietly laid to rest in the Colo cemetery awaiting that bright and glorious resurrection morn. Truly a mother in Israel has gone to her reward.

Brother Kinsell and the family desire to thank the many friends for their kindness manifested, also the beautiful floral tribute presented by the ladies will be held in grateful rememberance.

A. W. GILCHRIST, (Elder.)

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Clara Hall married Samuel Keeley, not "Freeley."
